Past Project: Open House CCNB (One Year Grant)
Open house provides a programme of social activities, speakers and activities for former carers and people who live on their own, to help them move on and to combat social isolation. The grant contributed towards a new programme which included activities such as workshops and outside speakers, as well as assisting in attending workshops and externally at a subsidised rate (at Stowe for example) and any transport costs and fees in visiting other venues, as necessary.
Past Project: Project Street Life (Long Term Grant)
Project Street Life, Buckingham provides facilities in premises where young people can participate in activities for one afternoon a week. They are here to assist young people from Buckingham and surrounding villages, to improve their conditions of life, particularly in the provision of facilities for leisure-time occupation in the interests of social welfare.
A grant of £520 was given in 2023, which was spent on a residential weekend for 11 young people and their leaders who participated in a variety of activities at the Cadlecotte Xperience Centre in Milton Keynes from 27th to 29th January 2023.
The activities were chosen in order to help develop and inspire teamwork and build confidence in the young people which would stand them in good stead for later life. Each of the activities were all inclusive and SEND young people were encourages to participate, with all necessary resources being available to them.
Project Life felt that they were successful in providing a residential Weekend for the young people who might otherwise not have been able to experience these opportunities.
