This year, Buckingham Town Council embraced Small Business Saturday – Saturday 2nd December. Spreading festive cheer, Buckingham Town Council organised additional activities and incentives to take place in the town centre to encourage shoppers into town to shop local.
From free face painting to a bubble-popping extravaganza and an elf hunt around the street market, plus musical entertainment, shoppers were also rewarded for shopping local with the launch of Buckingham’s Small Business Festive Passport prize draw.
The official Small Business Saturday national campaign may have been and gone but our Festive Passport continues until 17th December, which means residents can still join in and show their support for Buckingham’s small independent shops this festive season. For every purchase you make at one of the participating shops from now until 17th December 2023, you could win a £50 voucher to spend this Christmas in one of those shops.
A free paper copy of the festive passport is available to pick up from the Tourist Information Centre. Just make sure to collect your sticker or stamp when you make a purchase; the more you collect, the more chances you have of winning. Cllr. Robin Stuchbury, Chair of Town Centre and Events Committee, said that “This event was led by our town centre manager and officers, while working collaboratively with local partners, it once again demonstrated what’s best about Buckingham. Thank you to everyone who got involved with the Small Business Saturday event and to all the organisations who played an active part in promoting our town and its local economy. “
