The sun shone on an incredible lineup for this year’s 22nd annual Music in the Market. There were choirs, live bands, dancers and lots of audience participation. Buckingham town centre played host to the event which was organised by the Buckingham Acoustic Club and supported by Buckingham Town Council.
Newly elected Buckingham Town Mayor Cllr Anja Schaefer opened the event together with Town Crier Patrick Laws.
The event kicked off with an inspiring performance by children from Stagecoach Performing Arts Buckingham. This was followed by the Glee Club Choir.
Audience participation was encouraged when the Brackley Morris Men took to the stage. If Bollywood dancing was more your thing, Bollywood Beats later led a demonstration – with a hug crowd learning the moves and dancing along.
There was music throughout the day for everyone to enjoy. It ranged from folk and country to covers from the 60’s through to 2010s and more from local artists Bittersweet Music, Woo, Brothers Home Brew, Tu Kay & Ryan, Muz n Jenks, Smith and Brewer and The Toucans. The evening ended with a dance party from DJ Chris who had the crowd up on their feet and dancing.
Chair of the Town Centre and Events Committee, Cllr Robin Stuchbury was delighted that once again Music in the Market was able to take place. He said that: “The team from Buckingham Acoustic Club put together a wide range of performers, and their enthusiasm throughout the day helped the crowd to have an enjoyable day.”
