Congratulations to Buckingham’s Best Dish Competition Finalists

Each year, Buckingham Town Council’s Best Dish Competition shines a spotlight on the fantastic food scene in our town. Many of our local eateries are family-run businesses that have been serving the community for years, offering delicious and memorable dishes.

At last month’s Food Fair, visitors were invited to vote for their favourite dish from a Buckingham restaurant, café, pub, or takeaway. This year the people’s choice was:

Prego – and their pizza offering

Cornwall Place Kitchen – with cheese toasties

Dipalee Lounge – with Tikka Masala

The Grand Junction – and their Fish ‘n’ Chips

To congratulate the winners of this year’s Best Dish Competition, Mayor of Buckingham, Cllr. Anja Schaefer, visited all four venues, meeting the teams behind the winning dishes and presenting them with a trophy and certificate to display proudly.

Additionally, the 2025 Buckingham Food & Drink Map has been updated, showcasing the wide variety of places to drink and dine throughout the parish. This resource serves as a year-round guide for both residents and visitors eager to explore Buckingham’s thriving food scene.

If you missed the chance to pick up a copy of the Food & Drink Map, it is available at Buckingham’s Tourist Information Centre or online at: www.discoverbuckingham.uk

Chair of Town Centre & Events Committee, Cllr Robin Stuchbury said “Congratulations to this year’s winners! It was fantastic to see such strong community participation. The competition was overseen by our Deputy Town Mayor, Cllr Fran Davies, who, along with other committee members, will be delighted to hear the official results. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, voted, and supported the event. A special thank you to our dedicated committee members—this event wouldn’t be possible without their commitment and hard work. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event”!
