Buckingham Marks Remembrance Sunday with Parade and Memorial Service

On Sunday 10th November, residents of Buckingham gathered to pay their respects to our fallen heroes on Remembrance Sunday. The event, coordinated by the Buckingham branch of the Royal British Legion, Buckingham Parish Church and Buckingham Town Council saw strong attendance as our community came together to pay tribute.

The parade set off from Market Hill and proceeded to St Peter and St Paul’s Church for an outdoor service held at the War Memorial. To ensure all attendees could view the service, a large screen was set up on the grounds to provide a live feed. This setup was funded by Buckingham Town Council and the local branch of the Royal British Legion.

Buckingham Town Council wishes to thank all veterans, dignitaries, Armed Forces representatives, community organisations, guests and residents who attended. Special thanks go to the Reverend Will Pearson-Gee, Andrew Cooper of the Buckingham branch of the Royal British Legion and local PA company G & T Mixers, who provided their services free of charge.

We would also like to say a very big thank you to everybody who volunteered their time and whose contributions made the event possible.

Councillor Robin Stuchbury, Chair of Town Centre & Events Committee said, “On behalf of the Town Centre Events Committee, we extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to Sunday’s event. This gathering gave our community the opportunity to mark this significant occasion together in a shared act of remembrance—a moment made possible only through the cooperation and dedication of all involved.”
