Buckingham Christmas Parade

The Christmas tree is in place, the Christmas lights have been switched on – now it’s time for the annual Christmas Parade.

As part of Buckingham’s countdown to Christmas, the annual Christmas Parade will wind its way through Buckingham town centre on Saturday 10th December. Organised by the Christmas Parade Committee and sponsored by Buckingham Town Council, this year’s theme is ‘Films’. Floats, marching bands, and walking groups will form up on Chandos Road from 9 am ready to set off at 10:45 am. The parade will make its way up Bridge Street to the town centre where it will turn around in the cattle pens and make its way back to Chandos Road where it will disperse.

Cllr Robin Stuchbury, Chairman of the Town Centre & Events Committee had the following to say, ‘as we approach the Christmas Parade it is always worth remembering without the stewards and volunteers working with the officers to facilitate the event it would not be possible to partner this annual event sponsored by the Town Council which brings the community together and gives so much joy to so many’.

There will be free parking in Cornwall’s Meadow car park, to allow people to enjoy the parade and shop in the local shops and market.

To enable the parade to be kept safe, a road closure will be in place for Buckingham Town centre from 10:30 am and diversions put in place. Buses will be diverted away from the town centre between 10 am and 2 pm.

Here are the full details of the road closure and diversions.
