Become a local Councillor: Stand for Election on May 1st 2025

 

If you would like the opportunity to represent Buckingham as a Town Councillor or a Buckinghamshire Council Councillor now is the time to stand for election.

Applications to stand are called nomination papers and must be received by 4pm Wednesday 2nd April. Nomination papers must be handed in, in person, to the election office in Aylesbury. Town Councillors represent Buckingham is a number of areas from the management of parks and green spaces, to acting as a consultee for planning applications and local events.

Candidate and agent briefings

Buckinghamshire Council have arranged 2 online briefings on the dates below to explain the 1 May election process, including submitting nominations, the verification and the count.

Colleagues from the Electoral Commission and Thames Valley Police will also provide information on: Code of Conduct, handling postal votes, spending rules, security and election offences.
